Who is eligible for MSME Registration?

MSME Classification: Enterprise should be classified as micro, small, or medium enterprise.

Investment Limit: Investment in plant & machinery should be within Rs. 50 crore.

MSME Turnover Criteria for Registration in India

 

The turnover criteria for MSME registration in India has been revised in 2020. The new definition of MSMEs has increased the turnover limit for small businesses to up to Rs 5 crore, from the previous limit of Rs 1 crore. Medium-sized businesses can now register as MSMEs with a turnover of up to Rs 250 crore, up from the previous limit of Rs 100 crore.

This revision is expected to benefit around 2 crore MSMEs in India and provide them with easier access to credit, subsidies, and other benefits.

MSME Udyam Registration Process

Go to MSME Udyam Registration web-portal, udyamregistration.gov.in.

Select the category that applies to you.

If you are a new entrepreneur holding EM-II or not yet registered as an MSME, select “For New Enterprises who are not Registered yet as MSME or those with EM-II”.

If you already have an Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) or UAM acquired through Assisted Filing, select “For Enterprises already having Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) or UAM acquired through Assisted Filing”.

Enter your Aadhaar number and name.

Click on “Validate and Generate OTP”.

Enter the OTP that is sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number.

Enter your PAN details and type of organization.

Fill in the Udyam Registration form with your mobile number, email address, plant, turnover details, and the number of employees.

A message stating that the MSME registration is complete will be generated, along with a reference number.

The MSME authority will issue the registration certificate after verifying the details you have furnished.

MSME Registration Process of an Existing Enterprise!

All enterprises that were previously registered under EM-Part-II or UAM must complete the registration process again on the Udyam Registration portal starting from July 1, 2020.

Enterprises that were registered before June 30, 2020, will be reclassified based on the new notification.

The validity of existing enterprises registered prior to June 30, 2020, will only extend until March 31, 2021.

If an enterprise is registered with another organization under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, it must also register under Udyam Registration.
