What is FSSAI?

Key Eligibility Criteria for FSSAI Registration
✔ Food Business Operators (FBOs) with an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 12 lakh.
✔ Petty retailers engaged in food product sales.
✔ Individuals involved in the manufacturing or selling of food articles independently.
✔ Food sales conducted by temporary stall holders.
✔ Individuals distributing food in religious or social gatherings, excluding caterers.
✔ Small-scale or cottage industries operating in the food business:-
- Food Production Capacity (excluding milk and meat): Up to 100 kg/ltr per day.
- Procurement, Handling, and Collection of Milk: Up to 500 ltr per day.
- Slaughtering Capacity: Limited to either 2 large animals, 10 small animals, or 50 poultry birds per day or less.
FSSAI License Renewal Online : How to Renew FSSAI License?
FSSAI licenses are valid for a period of one to five years and can be renewed before they expire. The renewal process is similar to the application process and requires the same documents.
However, there are some important things to keep in mind when renewing your FSSAI license, such as the following:
✔You must submit your renewal application no later than 30 days before your license expires.
✔ Any FSSAI renewal application submitted after the expiration date is subject to a ₹100 per day late fee.
✔ If your business address or any other details on your license have changed, you will need to apply for a new license.

Eligibility Criteria for FSSAI
FSSAI license is required for all FBOs except small-scale businesses.
It includes State FSSAI License for small to medium-sized businesses with a turnover of Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 20 crore, and Central FSSAI License for large-scale businesses with a turnover exceeding Rs. 20 crores or operating in multiple states.
